May 28 2025 -As summer approaches the number of viewers on our site has increased dramatically. We love that so many people are interested in this Maine Heritage Treasure. Your help by joining FOSILS, renewing your membership, and/or donations allows us to maintain this wonderful peace of Maine. Please remember we are a private, non-federally funded, nonprofit organization that relies on our supporters. Many folks ask, "What does the Coast Guard own out here?" The answer is, "The light bulb (and the small solar panel grid to light it)."
